We love our Weber baby Q, yes you have to cook with the lid down, but we were informed of that prior to purchase. We have cooked roast dinners, pizzas, big thick steaks, puddings and cakes all to perfection. We bought it for camping, but now use it at home as well instead of our big BBQ. I would highly recommend you buy one with the higher hood and thermometer as we did, takes the guess work out of cooking.
Hhonestly, don't buy into the hype. Small cooking surface, not easy to clean, only hot when lid shut, expensive parts and add ons. Not impressed.
