What's new in LCC27?

The LCC27 cylinder valve builds upon the features of the existing POL valve while introducing several improvements. Importantly, the new LCC27 valve retains the internal thread used to connect current POL gas appliances, ensuring compatibility with new cylinders.

The safety enhancements of the LCC27 connection are noteworthy. It incorporates an intuitive right-hand thread that is easy to engage, providing a user-friendly experience. Additionally, the external ACME connection is now visibly apparent, facilitating a more straightforward and reliable attachment process.

Furthermore, the LCC27 valve has an integral safety cut-off which stops any flow of gas unless the regulator is properly connected. These combined safety features provide additional peace of mind during the usage of the LCC27 connection.

How can I tell the difference?

The most noticeable distinction when examining the cylinder is the visible external thread on the valve of the new LCC27 connection. In contrast, the older POL connection lacks this visible external thread and instead has the thread on the inside.

When will I start to see this new connection?

As of 2022 new barbeques manufactured have changed to have the LCC27 regulator as standard. Barbeques utilising the current POL connection can continue to be sold even after the introduction of the LCC27 connection. However, it is important to note that manufacturers will no longer produce new appliances with the POL connection.
